The First Israel Fund, Inc. (the Fund) is a closed-end, non-diversified management investment company. The Fund seeks long-term capital appreciation by investing primarily in Israeli securities. The Fund may invest in securities of foreign countries and governments. It invests in sectors, such as chemicals, commercial banks, diversified telecommunication services, insurance, pharmaceuticals, software and other sectors. The Fund’s investment advisor is Credit Suisse Asset Management, LLC (Credit Suisse). Credit Suisse Asset Management Limited, an affiliate of Credit Suisse, serves as the Fund’s sub-investment adviser. Analyst Exchange and Trading Services Ltd.
