Exxon Mobil (XOM): This is the worlds largest integrated oil company, having paid dividends all the way back to 1882 and increased them every year since 1982, XOM is also one of the largest corporations in the world when measured by annual sales, which hit $425 billion in 2008. Dividends should continue to grow by at least 5% per year. Value Line rates the balance sheet, which has cash assets of over $12.6 billion and only $9.6 billion in total debt, #1 for safety. The company should earn about $3.90 per share for all of 2009, down from the $8.69 posted in 2008, but for 2010, it appears that $5.60 is attainable. (No fees)
